The south-eastern coast of Maui near Hana has provided creative inspiration for many who have found their way to this unique and powerful place. While completing his 12th book, "Hawaii", the unspoiled natural beauty led author James Michener to call Hamoa Beach the most perfect South Pacific beach.

Musicians, writers and artists continue to be drawn to its shores and mountains.

Hamoa Beach Creative founder Tom Johnson discovered his inspiration here in 2004. A creative marketing strategist, he has worked in companies involving retail, professional services, and technology, where he was in charge of brand development, logo and graphic design, collateral layout and website development as part of the company’s marketing and business development strategies. He also served as North American Marketing Director for both Atomic Tuna and Melbourne IT, two pioneers in the field of B2B domain registry. As a freelance consultant, his current clients include universities, school districts, writers, small business start-ups and professional services companies.

In 2008 Tom re-located full time to Hana, Maui and visits Hamoa Beach regularly.
